My hair is very fine and, as a result, I can't use heated styling tools often. I use a hair dryer minimally and a curling iron on rare occasions. I had never used a flat iron because I've read that they get very, very hot. I was surprised when my stylist asked if he could flat-iron my hair before finishing the cut, which apparently makes it easier to cut-in the layers. I agreed, thinking he would know better than I whether my fine hair could handle the intense heat of the flat iron. Well, the result is that, after all my years of handling my fine hair gently, it is now fried to a crisp. This was a very costly visit to the salon, in more ways than one.

I absolutely love Anton's. Michelle is one of the only people I will let cut and color my hair. She always does a fantastic job. She always listens and gives me exactly what I want or she will have cute ideas if I am not exactly sure what I want. The rest of the staff always seems friendly as well. :)

So I went to Anton's for an hour massage the other day and was extremely disappointed. It started with a foot soak which seemed warm enough when my feet first entered, but as soon as my feet adjusted it was slightly above lukewarm. The masseuse was already gone though and by the time she returned it was downright tepid. Then came the actual "massage." More like a rubdown with oils. Even when I requested an increase in pressure none was forthcoming. A complete lackluster effort on her part. I had requested "firm" on the questionnaire which she verbally confirmed in advance, but it was mild to say the least. It seemed like she was trying to make me as greasy as possible without actually manipulating any soft tissue. That is until the very end. For the last five minutes or so she proceeded to manhandle my neck. It was if she was trying to make up for her phoning it in for the proceeding 55 minutes by strangling me for the last 5 minutes. Despite the fact that I was flinching and grimacing she just repeatedly told me "relax" and continued her assault. I wouldn't have taken time to write this review, but yesterday my neck was in near constant pain and is still stiff today. I feel like I need a massage to fix what was done to me at Anton's. A friend went to Anton's about a month or so ago for a massage and after comparing notes with her it sounds like she had the same unrewarding experience (minus the neck assault) from the same masseuse - Cat.

Reception was the usual, like any place. The haircut sucked. i went on my lunch hour from work and when i got back to office noone noticed. one person even asked me if i skipped the salon! that says it all...would not go back nor can i recommend. Second worst haircut i've ever had. can't tell she did anything except it looks straightened from my usual wavy hair. insult to injury, it was $40 and i tipped her $10. Verrrrrrrrry disappointing.

My fiance loves her stylist and gets her hair done at Anton's regularly. When she booked for her wedding party they quickly took her information and sent her a contract to sign (she head from other brides that this is not very common). Everything regarding the wedding-day dos has been EXTREMELY un-accommodating, and we're a little worried about paying all this money and having someone be rude or apathetic on the wedding day to our bridesmaids or the bride. From what I hear Anton's has quality stylists but for a special day, I would not recommend or trust Anton's. Maybe better for regular service but not for anything special. From what I've heard they schedule appointments very close together, even on special occasions. My fiance does not have time to find a new stylist so we just have to cross our fingers.
