stayed here 3rd week of august, very clean, well maintained, well run, large kitchen with plenty of space, met other interesting travelers as well from all over the world, they have a computer avail for use, and free Wi-Fi, like others have said- reserve ahead of time or you are out of luck, we wanted 2 nites but only had one nite available so then had to move on, we got a private room, surprised to find tv and closet space, towels and bedding are supplied, take off your shoes upon entering, so its smart to bring moccasins or something light for your feet, walmart is in walking distance if you need things, and ups is around the corner when you decide you overpacked like we did lol. its just a bit outside of the downtown area, so find the bus on the corner or you'll have quite a long walk

The private room is definitely worth every bit of 50 bucks, especially if you have two people it's actually as cheap as the dorm!

Very basic place, but clean and quiet. Don't go looking for friendliness or tons of conversation with other travelers.

The room was clean but, we went in early August and, with no AC or fan, the room was really hot for the first couple of nights. The kitchen was awesome and had every condiment or spice you could possibly want. We cooked almost every meal there because there was plenty of space, pots/utensils, and it was convenient. Plus, free pancakes were great! The owner seems like a good guy though he's neither very friendly nor unfriendly, kinda neutral. He was helpful in helping us find things around the area. I did have an unpleasant encounter with one woman by accident but it was harmless. There were some loud people outside at night which kept me up for a bit but it didn't wake my boyfriend. It probably wouldn't have been a problem with the windows closed but we would have burned to death. The curtains probably could be a bit better in the summer with so much light but it was alright. I honestly wish I'd stayed downtown. The bus schedules were confusing (I'm not used to public transport so maybe that's it) so we ended up taking taxis. This got rather expensive. It was nice to have a private room in a hostel though. I recommend it, definitely, but do consider how much you'd like to be downtown or how close you'd like to be to the bus station. There are restaurants close and a Wal Mart but if you walk just past the WalMart you'll find a MUCH BETTER STOCKED Safeway.
