Lots of really neat exhibits and hands on learning for kids. They have a rainforest room, a life sized dollhouse, a rocket room, a train exhibit (with a real train car and some really cool models), a water works exhibit with toy boats and system of locks, and they have a really cool garden in the back. They just added a "solar house" (donated by the university) that was engineered to run entirely off of solar power. It's a small, futuristic trailer that demonstrates a modern approach to living green . In addition to all that, the museum has exhibits on Appalachain history and the history of Oak Ridge. It's also buit in an old school house which gives it nostalgia and charm that you don't get in a lot of other museums.
