Dr. David S. Jones - Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates

I have never dealt with a surgeon as great as Dr. Jones. He was very personable, took the time to explain every detail, wasn't quick to want to operate, looking for alternatives, and executed what I'd call a perfect surgery. I have recommended him to every person I know.

Saw Dr. Jones 9 yrs. ago for a 2nd opinion on neck surgery. He disagreed with Dr. who had told me I needed surgery immediately. Recommended pain mgmt. instead. Worked great. Went back this fall when rheumatologist said I needed neurosurgeon for lower back. Dr. Jones explained options, so chose less invasive first. Didn't work, so he did 2- level lumbar fusion 7 weeks ago. I was even given a DVD explaining the procedure! Am doing well, right on target. Can't wait to be kicking up my heels at my "new normal", 80% less pain than before surgery. He's honest! He always listens, explains what he will do, then what he did, tells what to expect at every point, shows and explains x-rays, etc. I take a notebook with questions to him at every visit, have even called with questions. He takes time to answer them and to let me write them down. So gentle,compassionate, thorough, and even humorous at times, while constantly maintaining his professionalism. He did a great job on the surgery and has gained my complete trust. I highly recommend him and will have no one else if needed in future.

I have never had such a caring interaction with a Dr who could see I was in distress and took the time to take me to his office and show me the options and waited until I could stop crying as my wall of denial fell and the reality of the situation of my neck became clear. Dr jones is the only physician who did not write us off just because I am not a good surgical candidate. He remained professional, positve, and never discounted my pain. He referred us to Dr Batko for radio frequency neurotomy. This is my ideal physician , always looking to improve quality of life while being honest and positive.
