Unique and intense flavors, attentive and cheerful service, and breathtaking atmosphere. From all over the state, from Portsmouth to Keene, and all the way to Pittsburgh and back, you'll find far and few restraints that can touch my experience at Gypsy Cafè. If you ever venture to the White Mountains, make sure to make your way to the Gypsy Cafè for whatever Dan, the chef, is running for specials.

To be clear, I couldn't eat here so my rating is isolated to the abysmal management and service personnel. I stopped here on a weekend trip, walked inside, and grabbed one of the several empty tables by the door. While reading through the menu left on the place mat, a server placed a fruity looking mixed drink in front of me. I looked at him, puzzled, and he asked if I ordered the drink. "No, I did not." 'Really?' "Really." '....really, really?' SAY REALLY AGAIN! I dare you, I double dare you MFer....say Really one more GD time... "Really." He then explained that the table was reserved and that the party had requested such a drink upon arrival. Grand. Why wasn't there a sign on the table? He gestured as though the decorative flowers were all the symbolism one needs. I grabbed my things and moved toward one of the many other empty tables before he made mention of a hostess. Seeing as how I was standing by the doorway and there wasn't a sign, a hostess or hostess station in sight to such effect, I grew incredulous in that very moment. Surely, no group of adults in the service industry could be this incompetent and insolent. Still, I entertained the notion of enjoying a meal. It was, after all, a seemingly nice place on a very nice day. After requesting one of the plentiful empty tables by the windows, I was informed by the hostess that I may sit at the bar or outside; all 2 tables outside were occupied and the bar was very dimly lit. At that point, I had enough. I went a mile or so West to a place called Cascade. There, I enjoyed good food with very friendly staff and outdoor seating.

Perfection. The food, service, ambiance, drinks and overall experience were a good cut above the rest of eating and dining choices in Lincoln. The waitstaff, kitchen crew and management truly seem to love what they do and this means a lot to me and where I spend my hard earned cash. I will be sure to return here for more great food and drinks. We had the kale salad special, the cauliflower patties, chicken enchiladas and the salmon scandanavian. All four dishes were delicious and wonderfully prepared and priced vary fairly. Finally, this all happened on a busy Saturday night! Bravo, Gypsy Cafe! See you soon!

Look no further in Lincoln, this is where you want to eat – a creative oasis hidden in a tiny desert of uninspired Americana. No matter what corner of the globe they draw their inspiration from they reliably hit the mark. Toothsome noodles in a rich spicy peanut sauce flanked by perfectly done shrimp. Warm soft pita surrounded by delicious Mediterranean dips. Lusciously smooth mushroom brie soup. My only regret is that it is a hundred miles from my front door.
