My wife and I just returned from an awesome week at Kenai Riverfront and cannot say enough great things about our stay. It started with our initial contact with the owners, Jim & Cindy Nelson, to arrange our trip. They promptly supplied us with all the information we needed and cheerfully answered all of our questions. They took care of everything including booking our fishing guide and suggesting other activities available such as a scenic, fly-in fishing package or chasing halibut in Cook Inlet. We booked the Riverfront Suite and were pleasantly surprised with not only the accommodations - which are fantastic - but also the friendliness and attention to detail that the whole Nelson family showed us. The suite was fully appointed with a refrigerator, microwave, shower, and warm, comfortable beds. With a Finnish sauna just outside our door, we had everything we could possibly want. They gave us a tour of the facilities and showed us how to fish for the Sockeye (Red) salmon that were moving up the river. Oh, and did I mention that the Kenai River is about 100 feet from where you sleep? It was so nice to wake up in the morning, walk a few feet to the river and start catching 10 pound Red salmon before breakfast! Kenai Riverfront really is the whole package and we could not have been happier with our stay. We love Alaska and we love the Kenai. Now that we have stayed at Kenai Riverfront with the Nelson's, we will never stay anywhere else. Jeff and Deb

Our first impression was this is a great family atmosphere and has some amazing fishing. In fact, the second I walked out to the river to check it out, I saw a very happy boy pulling in a beautiful red salmon off the dock...you can't beat that! The river location is great too because there is a nature preserve just across the river so no houses or other people in your view while your fishing or hanging by the fire pit. It's a nice relaxing place out not far from Soldotna town but far enough you are in a peaceful environment and not within the hustle and bustle. The Nelson's are 1st class quality people, friendly like family, and I swear they are professional chefs cuz they cook some amazing grindz!

Our first stay with the Nelson family at the Kenai Riverfront Resort was the summer of 2005. We spent only one night at their lovely home but had a terrific time. The Kenai River has THE best salmon fising in Alaska and my husband caught his first red salmon right off the backyard dock. One of the Nelson girls actually showed him the proper way to clean and filet it.The next morning, Cindy prepared it for us at breakfast. Cindy and Jim are great cooks! The summer of 2006 brought us back to Alaska for the second time. We booked 3 nights at Kenai Riverfront Resort in order to do more salmon fishing. When we arrived and walked into the backyard we were greeted like long lost friends! Our stay was wonderful, again. The room is cozy and has a great view out to the river. We're hoping to make another trip to Alaska in the next few years and we will surely be making a stop at Kenai Riverfront Resort. We highly recommend it!

The perfect vacation spot to have a real Alaska experience. Their hospitality, direct access to the world famous Kenai river. Pictures surroundings. Wildlife all around, during our visit moose, plenty of eagles and word of a bear.... Jim and Cindy will go above and beyond to make this an unforgetable experience. Loved the Friday night potlock cookout, when we were able to experience Jim and Cindys coconut crusted salmon and halibut jalapeno poppers, DELICIOUS! Afterwards, campfire, Jim playing his guitar, singing and of course smores. You will love it! The Kenai Riverfront Resort, will be an experience with memories that will last a lifetime.
