Hello Everyone, If you didn't stay at Hood Lake Inn, then you absolutely missed the best place in town. My wife and I arrived April 17, 2008. Bill Floyd, owner and manager, could not meet us personally due to prior commitments, but we were greeted by his assistant and showed to our room. We stayed in the Bravo room, lakeside with a very nice balcony. This quaint Inn is more than what anyone would expect. Bill has every amenity one could think of and the room rates are just absolutely unbelieveable. Each room has a TV, small Refrig, Coffee Maker, Cups, Glasses, Ice Bucket, chairs and table, closet with a suitcase stand and a security safe inside the closet. The bathroom has all the conviences of home, blow dryer for the women, large mirror and a very large shower stall with two seating benches. All the towels are exceptionally folded and very soft. The room was very, very clean and had an excellent view of the lake. The bathroom is also furnished with liquid body soap, shampoo and conditioner, if we had known this we could have saved some packing. WOW !!!! This gentleman even furnishes a small community kitchen for his guests, stove/oven, refrigerator, sink and all untensils...even an extra coffee maker. He also puts out fruit and muffins for you in the morning. There are only four rooms available throughout the year, so you must plan well ahead for your stay at Hood Lake Inn. Bill's room rates are just unbelieveable, they are also adjusted according to the tourist season, but still very, very reasonable. If you visit his web-site, I can personally tell you that the photos of the Inn don't do it justice at all, this quaint Inn is just unbelieveable in all aspects. My wife and I intend to revisit Anchorage a couple of years from now for a longer stay and we will definitely stay at the Hood Lake Inn again. Bill, we would like to thank you for a pleasant stay. Mike & Mary
