Manhattan Dental: Donald Burger DDS

I rarely visit the dentist as I don't have insurance and, when I do, it's only due to an emergency. My experiences with dentists haven't been stellar in the past (as few as they were), since everyone I visited was all business and apparently in a hurry. However, I found Dr. Donald Burger and his staff to be very pleasant. I was also very pleased when Dr. Burger made it his business to educate me on proper oral care, complications, and recommended producers (something I NEVER received anywhere else). Every question and concern I had was answered and he was very helpful, when it came to recommending me to an oral surgeon. I've only been there once, but Dr. Burger has so far proven to be the best dentist I've ever had. I have zero hesitation about going back there and, for me, that's a huge plus.

I highly recommend him, I love to smile. :) Dr. Burger is a most professional and gentle dentist. Prior to going to Dr. Burger, The word “Dentist”. scared me. Within the first session Dr. Burger made me comfortable and my experience was painless. I actually needed some very intricate work done which was long past due. Almost immediately I trusted him; when I finally got into the chair I gave him a gentle warning, "I am terrified and I have a reflex that starts to kick if i feel pain, not voluntary, just a reflex. :):) He smiled and said thanks for the warning. Than proceeded to saved my mouth, I stayed calm. I love this guy, he is, most professional, and a real “Mentch” that means a rare human being. I would not go anywhere else.

I highly recommend Dr. Burger for all your dentistry needs. He is an expert at his profession as well as an extremely personable human being. Plus, his staff are wonderful and do their best to make a new patient feel welcome and comfortable. His office has all the high tech equipment you would want your dentist to have. I also found the Joni Mitchell, Carol king and Laura Nero music the Dr. plays while working very comforting. Highly recommend.

I've been going to Dr. Burger for umpteen years. I first came to him because my husband (a very long time patient of Dr. Burger's father and then Dr. Burger) recommended him. Since childhood, I had a strong fear of dentists and hadn't seen a dentist for a number of years, so when I first saw Dr. Burger, my mouth was a mess. Dr. Burger, however, was fantastic! Not just gentle but reassuring. I've been a devoted fan ever since (and I have bad teeth and gums so I see Dr. Burger quite regularly!). He keeps me calm with nitrous oxide and entertained with his stories and singing. His staff is also terrific. And today, for the first time, when I came in for a crown, he tried out a new computer-generated injection system for numbing just the tooth being worked on, and it worked great. I did not feel a thing, I mean nothing, even during the numbing process. And I left the office feeling perfect - none of the usual numbness to a whole quadrant of the jaw that can last an hour or more. Since starting with Dr. Burger, I actually look forward to going to the dentist.

I cannot describe how wonderful Dr. Burger is. I didn't think it was possible to look forward to going to the dentist but that's how I feel about my upcoming dentist appointment. Dr. Burger is very special. He cares deeply about dental and oral health and is passionate about his trade. I go the extra 10 miles to make sure the patient is as comfortable as possible. He has been in practice for decades and has many specialties. No matter the procedure, I feel fully confident that I am in good hands. He even called me after 2 relative large procedures to make sure I was feeling ok. He even took the time to write up a treatment plan for me, complete with my x-rays. I highly recommend him!
