    Great Museum, lots to see..The Gift Shop area and a Native American cool exhibit are free..The staff had always been courteous and helpful...The mining exhibit is very old school and informational...

    The museum itself was great but the staff was horribly rude. Exhibits were interesting for children and adults alike. The mine and the ghost town were the two favorites of all but they were not even a fraction of the neat exhibits the museum has to offer. The reason I did not give them five stars was because BOTH older gentlemen who were working there were basically glaring and staring at our large family from the moment we walked through the doors. We were made to feel VERY unwelcome and our children were very well behaved in spite of their number so it wasn't that. I might expect this from teens with little training but not from two 40/55 year old men. One even took time out of welcoming a new patron to stop and glare as we were coming down the elevator. Other than their discriminatory attitude, the museum was great!

    I am a Nevada Native have been my whole life and my family, "The Ranson Family". Ever since Nevada became a State my great-great grandfather was a miner here, which founded, "The Nevada Diamond". And my great grandfather was the US Marshal of Nevada. My Uncle Joseph Ranson found several Indian Artifacts and gave them too The Carson City Museum. It is something too see. Very Awesome Exhibit!!

    Pleasantly surprised by this museum. This was actually a great museum to take the kid to. Your kids will love the "Ghost town" and underground "Mining" exhibits (I thought it was cool to walk through them). It is a decent size for a small town like Reno/Carson.
