It's unfortunate that in this world, as a female, whenever I'd like professional assistance with something mechanical or technological (cars, bikes, computers, or otherwise), I am often met with condescension, leers, and/or get ignored completely. It has happened so much (all over Michigan) that seeking services and repairs fills me with a sense of dread. No reason to feel worried about that nonsense here. The professional and actually friendly attitude by all staff members I encountered at Pedal impressed me so much, that I will recommend them to anyone. Although Kalamazoo, Michigan is not a long-term home for me, they have earned my business whenever I find myself in this area. I am a novice cyclist who really just wanted to make sure that my bike was road safe for exercise/recreation. I also didn't get any attitude about the quality of my bike, even though this shop is obviously used to seeing bikes much nicer/newer/pro than mine. Since getting my bike back, it has been great. None of the scary noises or shakes that made me wary in the past. I feel safe spinning down the road now, and everything actually works on it. The bike that a friend's grandma gave me for free five years ago has a long future ahead of it once again!

I was in need of a bike rack and went into Pedal. They provided me some options and explained the pros and cons of each. I told them when I need the rack as we were leaving for vacation - they ordered the bike rack and the wrong rack was sent to the store, so they ordered another one and ensured it would arrive before I needed it. It arrived and the owner asked if I would like it installed - why, of course! The rack is exactly what we needed (fits 4 bikes and comes on and off very easily). The staff at the store is knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. A wonderful bike shop who understands customer service.

First off the place is in downtown AND has great parking, a combination you don't find often in Kalamazoo. The owner of the store (I believe anyway) Tim, is a very nice guy to work with, he is incredibly knowledgeable, his prices are fair, his stock is similar to Alfred E. Bike as far as the number of bikes in the store. I liked the store and I liked the owner, what more can you ask for. I had to add to this review because a week ago I took my bike in to Tim, keep in mind the only thing I've ever purchased at this store is a jersey. I was having trouble with my bike computer. Tim diagnosed, found that it was a problem with the cadence sensor and replaced it for me under the factory warranty. Unbelievable. I guarantee that the next bike and every bike item I purchase from this moment on will be from this shop.
