One day I noticed water was visible in my shower drain, I am completely ignorant when it comes to plumbing and assumed incorrectly that there was a blockage. I called Powell and when they arrived they told me in one second flat...that nothing was wrong and that the S trap in a shower is supposed to hold water, so not to worry...they then proceeded to charge me the full service charge of $105.00. Obviously it was my mistake but an honest one. I live in a small rural town where folks generally look out for one another, inclusive of local businesses. I just can't recommend this business for treating a new customer like this. I was told that they would leave or they could stick around for an hour it was up to me. But no matter what I owed them $105.00 to step foot on my property. Clearly I felt I should compensate them for the trip cost plus but they wanted trip cost and labor. Just didn't feel like a customer-centric business.

I wish I could give fewer stars. The technicians were both polite and professional as they cut holes in my walls to attempt to find a leak. But after determining that there was no leak and that someone had simply left water running in a sink, they charged me $395. Well, they did check my water softener and tell me that all was fine but I needed one of the tanks to be set to "bypass" which they did for me. Since then the water has had a yellowish tint. So I called to see if there was anyway they could come out and fix this issue since it obviously came about when they changed the setting on the tank. I was told that I'd have to pay for the service. So for $395 I got holes in my walls and yellow water! I'll never call Powell's again! Thieves!
