I offered Rare Book Buyer a Hebrew Bible printed in America- evidently the first one printed in 1815. I actually walked it over as I live quite close and he checked it thoroughly. Adam, the owner, evaluated it and made me an offer. Truth be told, I did not accept the offer and instead put it into auction- sort of hoping for a home run (especially after he got me so excited about it). While it did reasonably well at auction, his offer was right on the money and he clearly knows his stuff. He gave me a great deal of information about the book that I truly appreciated and even himself suggested a auction as another route instead of a private sale. Given the time it took to be paid by the auction house, with hindsight, it would have been just as smart to accept his offer from the start. I appreciate his honesty and professionalism.

I recently sold an older book to Rare Book Buyer long-distance, and couldn't have been happier with the entire process. Adam was very quick and thorough in his responses, and I felt an open honesty that is a bit rare these days. I shipped the book off to him insured with signature confirmation, he was prompt to let me know he had received it and looked it over, and equally prompt to mail me a check for the agreed-upon amount. I would have been a bit leery of sending a valuable book off across the country this way if Adam had not shown himself to be so open and trust-worthy. He continues to keep me informed about the book as he researches its history more, which is very nice too. I can't recommend him enough if you are thinking of selling a rare book!

I offered a 1613 She Bible to RareBookBuyer. Adam appraised the book and after receiving an additional offer and an evaluation from an auction house, I accepted his offer which was the highest (by at least 20%). Also, 2 months later (and the reason I am writing this review), he sent me photos to show me how beautifully the binding had been restored. He is a bookseller and preservationist and really cares about the books that pass through his hands. Highly recommended!

Good job on my review, not as extensive as I would have liked but finding comparisons for a book published in the 1600s is a mite difficult. Adam, with whom I dealt, was a pleasure to work with. Worth the five stars at least.

I'd recently picked up a quaint little first edition book called "The Barber's Manual" and was curious about its origins and potential value and could not find much information on the Internet. After doing a little online digging and finding Rare Book Buyer online, I emailed Adam to inquire about the book. Even though it wasn't a book that was relevant to his specialty, he replied right away and provided very useful information for a person like myself who is brand new to collecting old books. Thank you, Adam- I would highly recommend you to anyone with a rare book or collection!
