When the hybrid battery on my 2006 Prius started to fail at 290K original miles, I opted to drive (in “limp mode”!) 250 miles to Todd’s shop. He gave me detailed instructions on how to do this safely, and met me outside his usual hours to install a hybrid battery he had put through his reconditioning process. Two hours later I was happily on the road home! What a difference to do business with Todd for a fraction of the price quoted by the local Toyota dealership! Best wishes from a happy customer, Lynn, Tallahassee, Florida

There isn't a place you'll find ANY car buying experience better than what Mr. Thompson is offering at Tampa Hybrids. No shady run-around stuff, just a good honest guy that lets his product knowledge do the selling (the way it should be done). He was very informative to us being first time hybrid buyers. The 2005 2nd gen Prius we purchased has been the most reliable used vehicle I've owned thus far. The few little quirks that popped up long after buying it, he was happy to lend a helping hand with or explain DIY solutions. I'll stop there at the risk of sounding like I was paid to write this. Just believe these 5 star ratings. Todd is the man.

I bought my Prius from Todd almost two years ago, and took it to him recently for a repair. He's as far from the stereotype of a car salesman as you can get, he's extremely honest and fair and straight-forward. He knows what he's doing, has the expertise, and genuinely believes in his product, so he doesn't have to bullshit anyone. If you're considering a Prius, don't get it anywhere else. If you already have a Prius and need repairs, it was a quarter of the cost of what the Toyota dealership wanted to charge me. Definitely nothing but positive experiences with Tampa Hybrids.

Fantastic Prius Repair My car broke down in Brandon. I had it towed to Clarke's Automotive because they had good reviews. I was surprised when I first called Clarke's and Bob Clarke said there is no charge to look over the car....you never hear that these days! However, when I arrived with the car and tow truck, Bob then said, "No charge to look over the car", but then added, "unless we connect it to a computer". It would have been nice if he had included that part of the sentence before I had the car towed to his business. Just sayin. The tow driver also told me Clarke's is known for high prices. His final diagnosis the next day "heater control valve $501.00". I checked around...dealer was same price. Then I came across Tampa Hybrids. Todd was extremely helpful and quoted me $250...half the price. He really sounded like he knew what he was talking about too. His specialty is the 2nd generation Toyota Prius. When I had the car towed to him he connected his computer and it showed the problem with the heater control valve, but also showed the coolant pump was bad as well. The cost for that is normally the same as for the control valve but he charged less labor since they would already be in that part of the car. So it was $420 for both! At Clarke's I would have paid the $501, there would still have been a problem, and I would probably have needed to go back for another $500 repair. So Todd did the repair and took the time to show me how to remove my spark plugs and how to remove the bulbs from my headlights so I could take care of those things on my own. Really nice guy & very thorough. It was definitely worth the cost of the 2 tows and the $100 diagnosis fee at Clarke's to find a good and fair mechanic. And I still saved money compared to staying at Clarke's or going to a dealer. The car is running great! Thank you Todd!

Tampa Hybrids is a lifesaver! I took my 2007 Prius to Tamp Hybrid after three warning lights appeared (master warning light, brake system warning light, and malfunction indicator lamp). Immediately, I could tell Todd was very knowledgeable and honest. Todd had my car up and running promptly and also replaced two HID headlights, all at a very affordable price. Thanks him and his work, my Prius’ MPG is up. He isn’t your typical pushy auto repair or sale person. It’s great because you know you won’t get taken for all your money. Todd even contacted me after the work was done to make sure my car was running smoothly. HIGHLY recommended for anyone who owns a Prius or is in the market for one. I know I will be back once I’m ready for another Prius.
