I could spend hours at this library, amazing selection, super friendly staff. The kids floor is the absolute best!! The rooftop terrace is the best place to go for a quiet place to read!!

The Kansas City Public Entertainment Zone/Homeless Shelter has a good heart but a contemporary, typical vision for what a well funded library should be. In an age in which entertainment/distraction is the most exalted human pursuit, KCPL chooses to engage in the folly of the day. The library tries to be an entertainment experience as much as a transcendent resource. If the majority of the people in a building are engaged in internet amusement - and another are there to get out of the elements and bathe - is it still a library?

I love the Central Branch the most of the fantastic KC Public Library system. It's HUGE and always has everything I want, or it will be there in a day or two. Downside is that there are a lot of people there who seem like they just have nowhere else to go and sit at the computer all day and then go make a mess in the restroom, but, oh well, it's free!

I love what they did with the parking garage (2 story tall books covering the facade)
